In the organisation of the Centre for Judical and Prosecutorial training of Republic of Srpska and IRZ Foundation, Germany, on October 11th in Banja Luka at this Center held a seminar on the application of International Law in commercial disputes where are, on dynamic, educational and interactive way, researched questions regarding the interpretation and application of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods in domestic judicial and arbitration practice with special reference to the conditions and the scope of the Convention, as well as its rules on the conclusion, termination and an essential violation of the contract of sale, and then the question about non-compliance with the contract and liability for damages under this Vienna Convention. Finally, the participants presented a very interesting case-law on the application of international law in disputes before the commercial courts of the Republic of Srpska arising from international agreements on the sale of goods.
Lecturers were Zlatan Meškić, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law in Zenica, dr Slavko Đorđević, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law in Kragujevac and LL. M. Branka Skoko, a judge of the High Commercial Court of the Republic of Srpska.
At the seminar actively participated and attorney at law Jovana Pušac with the aim of collecting and analyzing the attitudes of the doctrine and jurisprudence necessary for resolving cases that successfully leads in this area of law.
